SOUTH Australia made it two Division One titles in a row when it advanced through this year's NAB AFL Under-16 Championships unbeaten.

The Croweaters weren't the only team to taste victory without loss, with Queensland claiming the Division Two title with a perfect record.

There was plenty of footballing talent on display at the Blacktown sporting complex in western Sydney, with none more exciting than SA midfielder James Aish.

The son of Andrew Aish, and nephew of Michael, two famous names in SANFL football, Aish averaged 26 disposals a game across the carnival to claim the Kevin Sheehan Medal as the best player in Division One as well as his state's most valuable player award.

North Melbourne fans have plenty of reason to get excited with Vic Metro's Luke McDonald, the son of North football manager Donald McDonald, available to the club via the father-son rule in two years.

"Come the third game what really stood out was that he played a defensive role on a dangerous small forward for Vic Country and that just showed another element of his potential," AFL national talent manager Kevin Sheehan said of McDonald's performances at the championships.

"He played in a back pocket on a guy who had stitched them up in the trial game and kept him quiet. Once he'd controlled that position they put him into the midfield and he dominated, but the discipline he showed down there to play that role was of a very capable and team-oriented player.

"With his father being the footy manager at North Melbourne he does have great game sense and made good decisions most of the time. He's a very smart player and is a size (187cm) that he means he can play in a number of spots.

"He still looks like he's got some growing to do and he was certainly a worthy winner of the MVP."

The most valuable player awards from the remaining teams went to James Tsitas (Vic Country), Dominic Sheed (WA), Lloyd Perris (NSW/ACT), David Richardson (NT), Isaac Conway (Queensland), Thor Boscott (Tasmania), Adam Saad (World XVIII) and Brendan Beno (South Pacific).
