The 2014 Brownlow Medal Count will be held at the Crown Palladium on Monday September 22, with a live telecast on the Seven Network and FOX Footy starting from 8.15pm.

For all media organisations who will require representatives to cover the presentation in a working capacity, specific Brownlow Medal media accreditation will be required on the night.

These passes will also enable journalists to access the work-tables located in the Garden Rooms (adjoining the escalators) while the count itself is in progress, along with the winner's media conference after the presentation. All media should please note that working journalists will not have access to the room itself through the course of the count, due to space restrictions.

Applications should be forwarded to Patrick Keane at the AFL via e-mail – Patrick.keane@afl.com.au --  along with a return address including postcode to forward the passes.

Please note, you must apply before Friday September 19, to be considered for accreditation.

The full guidelines for working media on the night will be included when passes are forwarded, but a number of key points to note are:

GUEST ARRIVALS / INTERVIEW AREA

Guest arrivals will commence from 5.15pm in the Southern Porte Cochere (as per previous years). The AFL will assign specific areas within the arrival section for major media outlets. Multiple crews / journalists from the same organisation will be required to work within their designated section. There will also be a general interview area for non-rights media who don’t normally cover AFL football and accreditation for this area will be limited and will be accredited on a first-come basis. The AFL will advise when it is no longer accepting applications for this general area. Please note that working media staff will not be admitted to the Palladium, or the pre and post-count function area at any stage of the night while guests are in attendance. Photographic staff will have access to the room during the count.

WINNER'S MEDIA CONFERENCE

The media conference with the 2014 Brownlow Medallist will be held at approximately 11.05pm, immediately after the winner has been presented with his medal during the Seven Network and FOX Footy live telecast at approximately 10.45pm.

The Media Conference will be held in the River Room 1. All media who wish to attend this conference will require an accreditation pass to gain access past security on the night.

DRESS STANDARD -- WORKING MEDIA

Working media are not required to be wearing dinner suit and black tie to attend the winner’s media conference.

NON RIGHTS BROADCASTERS

As per previous years, all non-rights broadcasters are able to film / interview guests on arrival at the Crown complex, before they pass through the main entry doors. Once inside the complex, only the Seven Network and FOX Footy’s broadcast team cameras are permitted to film or interview in this area for vision purposes.

PHOTOGRAPHERS

As per what has occurred in recent years, the area surrounding the tables of the leading contenders will be kept clear during the closing stages of the count, for the benefit of those people watching the telecast at home, so that players are visible at all times. Photographers will not be allowed to gather around the player tables before the winner is announced, but the winner will be available, as in previous years, for a photo opportunity before his press conference.

RADIO STATION BROADCASTS / TELEPHONE LINES

Radio Broadcast positions on the night will be in the Garden Room, adjoining the pre-count area. The booking of telephone lines and radio broadcast positions needs to be confirmed with the AFL Broadcasting Department. Please contact Emma Taylor, Account Manager - Broadcasting & Scheduling, on 03 9643 1942 or via email emma.taylor@afl.com.au
