Richard Tambling delisted but Crows open to re-drafting the midfielder
RICHARD Tambling has been delisted by Adelaide along with hard nut Aidan Riley, but the club is open to re-drafting the pair as rookies.
Tambling (27) played just five games this season and 16 in total for the Crows after he was traded to West Lakes from Richmond at the end of the 2010 season.
Riley (21) could only manage two games in 2013 after fracturing his leg against West Coast in round 15.
The Crows elevated impressive defensive duo Rory Laird and Kyle Hartigan into their senior squad, but list manager David Noble insisted Tambling and Riley might yet have a future at the club.
"Richard and Aidan have both been hampered by injuries, which have affected the continuity of their football," Noble said.
"We've had to make some tough decisions to make room for rookie upgrades and two picks in the National Draft.
"Both Richard and Aidan will be given consideration for rookie spots next year."
Both Laird and Hartigan enjoyed fruitful 2013 seasons, particularly Laird, who earned a NAB AFL Rising Star nomination in round 20.
His courageous play drew consistent praise from coach Brenton Sanderson, while Hartigan's ability to quickly adapt to AFL football saw him average 19 possessions in his three games this year.
Category B rookie Ben Dowdell was also told he would not have his contract extended.
