IN WHAT appears a fitting honour given his likely position in the club's attack early next season, Adelaide's spearhead recruit James Podsiadly will wear jumper No.1 in 2014.

With Taylor Walker set to take the full 12 months to return from his knee reconstruction, Podsiadly looks set to start the season as the Crows' prime forward.

He wore No.31 at Geelong, but at West Lakes that jumper is already worn by young midfielder Jarryd Lyons.

Gun draftee Matt Crouch will wear No.44, a guernsey most famously donned at the club by two-time premiership defender Peter Caven.

Riley Knight will wear No.39 while, as previously announced, Eddie Betts will take the reins from retired cousin Graham Johncock and wear No.18.

Sam Kerridge will take over Bernie Vince's No.17 and Rory Laird will pull on Kerridge's old No.29 jumper in 2014.
