BEN REID's versatility as a defender and a forward could be crucial to your NAB AFL Fantasy hopes next season.

The Collingwood swingman has been awarded dual position status, following a year in which he showed an exceptional ability to play at either end of the ground.

Reid's 2014 price is $387,700 and he looms as great value, in particular, if he can push forward and snag a few goals.

With his stints roaming up and down the wings firmly in mind, coaches can also pick Heritier Lumumba (formerly Harry O'Brien) in two positions from next season.

The dashing Pie will be available as a defender or midfielder for $475,400 in 2014.

Magpie stars Dane Swan and Scott Pendlebury are again their team's most expensive players.

Swan's price is $636,600 (second highest in the competition) while Pendlebury is the fourth highest-priced player, starting 2014 at $611,200.

Steele Sidebottom [MID, $523,000] and Dayne Beams [MID, $498,800] will again be popular options in 2014.

Following his return from a long-term quadriceps injury, Beams showed his Fantasy worth to score an average 92.04 points per game last season from just seven games.

Sidebottom averaged 96.50 points a game in 2014, roaming all over the ground to win his possessions.

Matthew Scharenberg – the Magpies' highest draft pick (No. 6 overall) – is a chance to make his senior debut in 2014.

Scharenberg could slot into the Pies' half-back flank and looms as a potential bench option at $249,300.

Former Brisbane Lion Patrick Karnezis could also break into the Collingwood lineup.

Karnezis [FWD/MID, $212,700] dominated through the midfield in the NEAFL for much of last season and is a player with plenty of talent.

Jamie Elliott [FWD, $366,300], Alex Fasolo [FWD, $208,400] and Tim Broomhead [FWD, $184,300] are other Magpies worth considering.
