COLLINGWOOD has been forced to make a late change for its elimination final against Port Adelaide at the MCG on Saturday night, with big man Quinten Lynch failing to overcome an ankle complaint.

The former West Coast Eagle has been replaced by small forward Jamie Elliott.

Although Lynch has not been amassing huge statistics, he has formed an important part of Collingwood's structure, adding extra height up forward and providing support for first-year ruckman Brodie Grundy.

His withdrawal means Grundy will now ruck the entire game alone.

Lynch suffered the injury during last week's round 23 loss to North Melbourne.

Port Adelaide also has only one recognised ruckman in its line-up, Matthew Lobbe.

The Power will take an unchanged line-up into the clash.

Veteran Alan Didak has been named as Collingwood's starting substitute, with Aaron Young to wear the green vest for the visitors.
