PORT Adelaide’s disappointing Sunday at Subiaco Oval took a turn for the worse when star forward Daniel Motlop was reported.

Motlop, who kicked four goals in the 50-point loss to the West Coast Eagles to be one of his side’s few bright spots on a dark day, was booked by a goal umpire for striking Eagles utility Adam Hunter in the third quarter of the match, which the Eagles won 19.11 (125) to 10.15 (75).

Motlop had 11 possessions and kicked 4.2, one goal coming when he nonchalantly beat three defenders late in the second term, and another when he tracked the ball brilliantly around the boundary line with Eric Mackenzie in hot pursuit before kicking truly. He also took the mark of the day in the third term, a screamer in the goal square before handing off to teammate Robbie Gray, who goaled.
