PAUL Hasleby has signed a one-year contract extension with Fremantle, tying the midfielder to the club until the end of the 2010 season.

Hasleby, 28, agreed to terms on Thursday morning and will now almost certainly finish his career a one-club player.

The four-time Ross Glendinning Medallist has played 188 games in 10 seasons and said he was already looking forward to his next campaign.

"I’ll be starting pre-season training in early November and I'm excited about playing my 11th season with Fremantle," he said.

"Along with all the senior players, I've really enjoyed working with our young playing group. There is a lot to like about the future of the Fremantle Football Club and I’m very keen to be a part of that."

Hasleby made a superb return from a knee reconstruction in 2009, playing all 22 games and finishing as Fremantle's leading possession-winner.

Fremantle player manager Brad Lloyd said the club was delighted with the All-Australian's recommitment.

"Paul is an outstanding and decorated Fremantle player," Lloyd said.

"After missing a year of football through injury, Paul played all 22 games in 2009 and we believe that he is capable of playing even better football next year."

Hasleby's contract dispute bubbled away for the final month of the season after his wish for a two-year extension went public and Fremantle refused to budge from its one-year offer.

Fremantle recently re-signed key midfielders Rhys Palmer and Ryan Crowley until the end of the 2011 season, while exciting first-year player Tim Ruffles will also stay at the club for the next two seasons.

Kepler Bradley and Dean Solomon have signed one-year contracts for the 2010 season, but the club is yet to strike a deal with Brett Peake.

And Fremantle coach Mark Harvey and chief executive Steve Rosich have both taken a firm stance on key backman Chris Tarrant, saying the re-born defender will not be traded, regardless of his intentions for the 2011 season.

Tarrant is three years into a four-year deal with Fremantle.
