Two of Western Australia’s most powerful and iconic brands will be linked from the 2012 AFL season onwards as the West Coast Eagles and Bankwest today announced a major partnership.

For the 2011 season, Bankwest will join the club as a premier partner for the duration of the season and next year will step-up its partnership becoming a major sponsor of the West Coast Eagles Football Club. The Bankwest logo will make its debut on the Eagles’ football guernsey at the beginning of 2012.

This significant and long-term sponsorship agreement represents the joining of two of WA’s most iconic brands.

In announcing the new partnership, West Coast Eagles chief executive officer Trevor Nisbett said the football club and Bankwest are an ideal fit.

“Bankwest has been part of the Western Australian community for over a century and the West Coast Eagles is arguably the biggest sporting brand in the state, so there’s a definite synergy between the two organisations,” Mr Nisbett said.

Jon Sutton, managing director of Bankwest said: “It’s fantastic that we have been able to bring together two of the West’s best known brands and we look forward to a long and successful partnership with the West Coast Eagles.”

Bankwest has a significant history in the state of Western Australia and this sponsorship is another milestone for the bank as it continues to grow its presence across the state and deepens its involvement in the WA community.

The West Coast Eagles remains committed to Hungry Jack’s in 2011, however Bankwest will step up as major sponsor from November 1, 2011. Hungry Jack’s has been a major supporter of the club for 25 years and the West Coast Eagles values highly their contribution over the course of its history.
