Hi Mark, At what point in a season like this do you look less to development for a future season and more to a result for this season? I noticed we finished the game with Rodan, Boak and Thomson in the centre so at this stage development is still key (plus the game being as it was gave us the luxury to do so).
Michael

MARK WILLIAMS: Very astute viewing Michael. Obviously as you get closer to the finals your priorities change to some degree but we will maintain an emphasis on the development of players and development of the list. In the end as a club we're all about being true contenders and winning premierships.

Choco, another top effort today from the guys! This fast flowing, high scoring play is great to watch. Why do you think we are continuing to pile on goals now, where earlier in the season we appeared to let the opposition get a few back after half time?
Brendan

MARK WILLIAMS: We probably have got five or six different players in our side from last year and we’ve got three or four different coaches and to get that mix right probably takes half a season. Obviously things are gelling pretty well at the moment.

Hi Choco, another great win, good to watch fast exciting football. Improving each game is Alipate Carlile, do you agree?
greg c

MARK WILLIAMS: Yes, he’s finding his way. I think Toby Thurstans and Peter Burgoyne back there have helped him. Obviously we don’t have a very experienced backline and every game that he plays will be a real bonus for us in the future.

Hey Choco..I thought that the game today was a really good game. Some of the younger players really showed what they could do. Chad Cornes has proved that he is such a versatile player. No matter where you put him he dominates. I think just making the finals would be a huge stepping stone for the boys. Do you see it like that?
Emma

MARK WILLIAMS: We finished 12th last year and won eight games. Having won 11 now, that’s a vast improvement. Having achieved that to this date, we’re not going to put a ceiling on what we can do. We’re going to push and go as far as we can. Everything from now on is a real bonus for us and hopefully we get finals experience into this young group.

CHOCO’S PLAYER OF THE DAY: Chad Cornes

MARK WILLIAMS: Our team was struggling to find tall, marking forwards and for Chad to put his hand up and go down there and actually deliver was fantastic for the team. It’s easy to say the six goals are why he wins Player of the Day but when combined with his willingness to go and play there and make a difference, set him above the others.
