The Brisbane Lions AFC wishes to congratulate Lions Life Member Brad Scott on his recent appointment as Senior Coach of North Melbourne.

Scott played 146 games and kicked 39 goals with the Lions from 1998 to 2006 after being traded to the Club from Hawthorn where he played 22 matches.

He gave nine seasons of loyal, determined and selfless service to the Lions before hanging up his boots at the end of 2006.

Scott’s value as a player was significant throughout the premiership years and he enjoyed the spoils of success alongside his twin brother Chris in both the 2001 and 2002 Grand Final triumphs.

The dual premiership player earned an AFL Rising Star Nomination in 1997, finished equal third in the Lions’ Club Champion award in 2002 and represented Australia in the 2002 International Rules Series among other individual accolades.

A great student of the game, Scott was employed as an Assistant Coach at Collingwood immediately after retirement and has learned the trade under Magpies coach Mick Malthouse for the past three seasons.

He now becomes the second player from the Lions’ three-peat premiership era - along with current Lions coach Michael Voss - to embark on an AFL senior coaching role.
