James Podsiadly and Brodie Moles have been honoured by the VFL by being named in the league’s team of the year.

Podsiadly finished third in Liston Trophy voting by just three votes despite missing the final three games of the home and away season. The 2008 winner of the Liston, Podsiadly was named in the VFL’s all star team for the fourth time having also been picked in 2005, 2006 and 2008.

Podsiadly won the Cats VFL best & fairest and helped Geelong return to the finals after missing last year’s top eight.

Moles, in his second season on the Cats rookie list, earned his first team of the year honour. Moles began his VFL career with Tasmania in 2007 before being picked up by the Cats. He finished third in Geelong’s VFL best & fairest voting and played two NAB Cup games during the AFL pre season.
