If the Bombers continue with their present form in the coming months Sheedy will be talking far more about re-building the team and less about finals footy. The final quarter against the Kangaroos was dismal. The Bombers didn't simply let the game slip, they crumbled, kicking 1.1 to 5.4 to lose the game by 21 points.

The Kangaroos kicked 8 of the final 9 goals of the match to wrap up another win while the Bombers have now lost 3 in a row and have 8 wins and 6 losses for the season. Fanatical Kangaroos supporter, Alexi Lynch, put it simply when he said "Kangaroos win again ... against the odds". What the Bombers should take from this game is the determination and spirit displayed by the underrated Kangaroos.

The leadership duo of Hird and Lloyd will be disappointed with their own performances. Rawlings and Archer shared the job of tagging Hird, who was held to 7 touches for the night, while Lloyd was restricted to 1 goal. But what hurts about the loss is that the Bombers came out with ferocity, looking refreshed, and ready to bounce back from the previous defeats to the Lions and the Demons. McPhee and Murphy put in fantastic performances for the club along with some help from Fletcher, JJ, Misiti, Allan, Bolton and Dyson.

The Bombers need to get back to basics and focus on running games out. The form of several players will come under the microscope. Over the rest of the year the Bombers play the Tigers, the Eagles (away), the Saints, the Power, the Blues, the Pies, the Swans (away), and the Bulldogs. The Bombers can make the finals if they play to their ability.
