COLLINGWOOD and Geelong will head into their respective clashes with Gold Coast and Richmond without a combined tally of six premiership players.

The Magpies will travel north for their clash with the Suns at Metricon Stadium on Saturday night without Darren Jolly (illness), Sharrod Wellingham (groin) and Alan Toovey (hand), while Alan Didak (calf) has been left out for a fourth straight week.

They have also omitted Luke Rounds after three games, and recalled Tyson Goldsack, Brent Macaffer - for his first senior game since round two - Cameron Wood and Simon Buckley.

Meanwhile, the Cats have lost captain Cameron Ling to soreness while Brad Ottens has been left out despite being available after serving his one-match suspension last weekend.

They've dropped Simon Hogan and Steven Motlop, but have regained dual premiership players Matthew Scarlett, Shannon Byrnes and David Wojcinski, and young trio Daniel Menzel, Mitch Duncan and Josh Cowan.

Scarlett and Wojcinski have been named on the field and the rest on a seven-man interchange bench, to be trimmed on Friday.

The Suns' line up against the Pies with just two changes from the team that defeated Richmond last Saturday.

Maverick Weller and Nathan Krakouer have been recalled, while Hayden Jolly and Charlie Dixon have been omitted.

The Tigers, stung from their loss to the Suns, have dropped ruckman Andrew Browne and replaced him with Angus Graham for his first senior game since round eight.

Their only other exclusion at this stage is Brad Helbig (leg) while Shane Tuck, Mitch Morton, Mitch Farmer and Jeromey Webberley have been recalled - Tuck for his fifth senior game this year and Morton's first since round three.

It signals a return to the game for Morton after he requested time away from the club early last month to deal with a personal issue.

St Kilda has named Jarryn Geary to replace James Gwilt, who will miss the rest of the season with a knee injury, for its clash with Adelaide at Etihad Stadium on Friday night.

The Crows have lost Matthew Jaensch to a shoulder injury sustained last week against Essendon, and have recalled Jack Gunston.

North Melbourne, fresh from its surprising win over the Western Bulldogs last Sunday, have brought in Robbie Tarrant and Cam Richardson, while Ben Speight has suffered a season-ending shoulder injury. Luke Delaney has been dropped.

The Roos take on the Lions who have lost captain Jonathan Brown for the year with another facial fracture. Ryan Harwood has been dropped, while Aaron Cornelius and Amon Buchanan return.

The Sydney Swans have regained Jude Bolton after the durable midfielder missed two games with a knee injury he sustained before the team's round 16 game against the Suns.

They have omitted Jesse White for Saturday's clash with the Western Bulldogs, which will be retiring forward Barry Hall's final visit to the SCG.

The Bulldogs have made three changes. Sam Reid and Josh Hill are omitted, and Robert Murphy is sidelined with a one-week groin injury.

They have been replaced by Dylan Addison, Jayden Schofield and Nathan Djerrkura, who coach Rodney Eade believes are suited to the SCG's smaller surface and the expected wet conditions.

The game will be Hall's last in Sydney, after the 34-year-old announced his retirement - effective at the end of the season - this week.

Essendon skipper Jobe Watson will miss a fourth match in succession with the hamstring injury he suffered in round 14. The Bombers have made just one change to the team that defeated Adelaide, with Jake Carlisle replacing Heath Hocking (general soreness) for Saturday night's match against the Blues.

Carlton has made three changes as it attempts to snap out of its recent form slump. Dennis Armfield, Marcus Davies and Zach Tuohy come in for Paul Bower (calf), Aaron Joseph (hamstring) and Matthew Watson (omitted).

Melbourne has included four players - Clint Bartram, Michael Evans, Lynden Dunn and Matthew Bate - on its extended bench for Sunday's home game against the Hawks.

Cale Morton has been omitted from the team that defeated the Power in Darwin.

Hawthorn has some handy inclusions with Cyril Rioli, Brad Sewell and Jordan Lewis shoehorned straight into the starting 18 and Jordan Lisle named on a seven-man bench. Matthew Suckling is out of the team with a back injury.

Fremantle has added Ryan Crowley, Nick Suban, Jayden Pitt and Peter Faulks to an extended bench, but Roger Hayden is out of the team to face cross-town rivals the Eagles after breaking his leg last week.

West Coast has named Mitch Brown, Patrick McGinnity, Brad Sheppard and Ashton Hams - all on the bench - and dropped Koby Stevens.
