DUAL Coleman medallist Josh Kennedy is getting frustrated by the lack of supply into West Coast's forward line after helplessly watching another final-quarter fadeout against St Kilda.

The star Eagles spearhead bagged another five goals on Sunday and is back into the race to win the League's goalkicking for a third-straight season, now only two goals behind leader Joe Daniher who has booted 56.

Kennedy has slotted 20 goals in four games since his return from a calf strain and is doing everything in his power to keep the Eagles in the finals hunt, despite feeding off limited supply.

West Coast had just 46 inside 50s against the Saints and is ranked equal-13th for taking the ball into attack this season.

"As a forward you do get a bit frustrated at the lack of supply, but we have been able to make the most of our opportunities with what we've been getting," Kennedy said.

"We've been trying to work on ways to get a bit more supply because we've got guys up forward – Jack (Darling), Lecca (Mark LeCras), Crippa (Jamie Cripps) – who can kick some goals.

"It's obviously been disappointing that we can't (get enough supply) but you've just got to deal with what you get."

LeCras, in particular, suffered during a dry patch in front of goals mid-season, and then copped fierce scrutiny amid the fallout from the Eagles' round 18 capitulation against Collingwood.

However, the 30-year-old has bounced back with five goals in the past two games and Kennedy urged his close mate to play on next season.

"We all go through form slumps and it's going to come to a stage when you get over 30 and you're not performing, all you guys (media) and the commentators will say it's time for you to move on," he said.

"That's the rollercoaster of footy. It's something I feel when I finish I'm not going to miss.

"Lecca's copped his fair share and I think he's handling it really well.

"I tell him every day that I hope he's playing next year. I love playing with Lec."

Speaking after Sunday's eight-point loss, West Coast coach Adam Simpson took a "glass half-full" view despite watching his side struggle in another fourth quarter.

The Eagles fought hard to lead by 14 points in the final term before St Kilda's clearance (+12) and contested possession dominance (+34) told.

Kennedy insisted fitness wasn't the issue and declared that the Eagles – who need to win at least two of their last three games to play finals – still believed they could feature in September.

The 29-year-old hoped Brownlow medallist Matt Priddis would be recalled for Saturday night's must-win clash against Carlton, and admitted the senior players had been rocked by the midfielder's shock retirement call.

"It's impacted a lot of us older players that play with him because you always think that Prid's going to go on forever," Kennedy said.

"He's chosen not to and we respect that. Hopefully we can get these last three games with him and he's going to be someone who can help us hopefully get the wins and play finals.

"One of the big things against the Saints is we lost the contested footy – we got smashed in it.

"Pridda's definitely putting his hand up this week to play and hopefully match committee can select him because I think we need someone to win that contested ball and Pridda's the guy to do it."
