The AFL wishes to advise the Tribunal will sit tonight at 5pm, Tuesday June 10, to hear the charge laid against Fremantle’s Hayden Ballantyne from the weekend’s matches. All other sanctions offered by the Match Review Panel from the weekend’s games were accepted:

Hayden Ballantyne, Fremantle, has been charged with Engaging in Rough Conduct against Matthew Jaensch, Adelaide Crows, during the fourth quarter of the Round 12 match between Fremantle and the Adelaide Crows, played at Patersons Stadium on Sunday June 8, 2014.   

In summary, the matter has been directly referred to the Tribunal for its determination and he cannot accept an early plea on this matter. 

 

Sanctions Accepted:

Tom Simpkin, St Kilda, has accepted a reprimand and 89.3 demerit points towards his future record for striking Aaron Young, Port Adelaide, during the fourth quarter of the Round 12 match between St Kilda and Port Adelaide, played at Adelaide Oval on Saturday June 7, 2014.

David Myers, Essendon, has accepted a reprimand and 45 demerit points towards his future record for striking Devon Smith, GWS Giants, during the third quarter of the Round 12 match between Essendon and the GWS Giants, played at Spotless Stadium on Saturday June 7, 2014.

David Myers, Essendon, has accepted a $900 sanction for wrestling Callan Ward, GWS Giants, during the third quarter of the Round 12 match between Essendon and the GWS Giants, played at Spotless Stadium on Saturday June 7, 2014.

Callan Ward, GWS Giants, has accepted a $900 sanction for wrestling David Myers, Essendon, during the third quarter of the Round 12 match between the GWS Giants and Essendon, played at Spotless Stadium on Saturday June 7, 2014.

Jarrad Grant, Western Bulldogs, has accepted a $900 sanction wrestling Darcy Gardiner, Brisbane Lions, during the third quarter of the Round 12 match between the Western Bulldogs and the Brisbane Lions, played at Etihad Stadium on Saturday June 7, 2014.

Ty Vickery, Richmond, has accepted an $1800 sanction for misconduct against Michael Firrito, North Melbourne, during the first quarter of the Round 12 match between Richmond and North Melbourne, played at Etihad Stadium on Sunday June 8, 2014.
