NORTH Melbourne captain Andrew Swallow will have scans on his right knee on Monday, but rates himself a strong chance of lining up against West Coast on Friday night.

Swallow injured his knee against the Western Bulldogs on Saturday in an incident where Bulldogs opponent Dylan Addison fell across his leg.

"It's not too bad, it's a little bit sore but I don't think there's any major structural damage, I have to go and get scans tomorrow … hopefully it will pull up all right," Swallow told Channel Seven's AFL Gameday on Sunday morning.

"Initially when I did it I thought 'gee I might be in trouble' but we spend more time in the gym doing injury prevention than we do on other stuff and the physios were pretty happy."

When asked what his chances out of 10 were to line up against the Eagles at Patersons Stadium on Friday night, Swallow replied: '10'.

Much has been made of Majak Daw's breakout game against the Dogs. Daw put on a show by kicking a career-high six goals.

In a warning to opposition clubs, Swallow said Daw could only improve.

"It's exciting, he's been there a while so to see the development he's taken has been amazing, he's going to have some days when he won't get a kick but he was terrific on the weekend," he said.

"If we can get the three of them (Drew Petrie, Aaron Black and Daw) working well it will allow Majak to play one-out a bit more."

Somewhat surprisingly, star midfielder Daniel Wells - ranked No. 16 in the Official AFL Player Ratings - started as the substitute against the Dogs.

But Swallow said North was just trying to ease Wells through.

"He's had a delayed pre-season and Achilles problems so it was either that (starting as a sub) or he misses a game."
