HAWTHORN departs for a week-long training camp on the Sunshine Coast on Thursday, and captain Luke Hodge has warned the club's fresh faces to expect a tough initiation.

Three of the Hawks' selections in Tuesday's rookie draft - Amos Frank, Adam Pattison and Andrew Boseley - met their new teammates for the first time at Wednesday night's annual general meeting.

The other, former Brisbane Lions ruckman Broc McCauley, will link up with the squad in Queensland.

Addressing players and supporters during the AGM, Hodge promised the recruits a challenging first week on the job.

"The biggest induction to a football club will be this week coming up," he said.

"Andrew Russell, our fitness guy, has been given free reign by 'Clarko' (coach Alastair Clarkson) to punish us as much as he wants to, both physically and mentally, to see how we respond.

"For a first year person, it's challenging."

The 2008 Norm Smith medallist, now a veteran of 195 AFL games, had some words of encouragement for the new players.

"First impressions last," Hodge said.

"The best way to get respect from your teammates is to work hard, hold your head high and just give everything you've got."

Also at the AGM, Jeff Kennett's last as president, Hawthorn announced its number changes for next season.

Matt Suckling will move from No.31 to No.4, and Luke Breust from No.47 to No.22.

Recruit Jack Gunston has been handed the No.19, made famous by former spearhead and current football director Jason Dunstall.

In his first address as Hawthorn's new president, Andrew Newbold revealed that the club's Waverley Park headquarters would now be known as the Ricoh Centre under an expanded sponsorship deal with the office supplies company.

Veteran half-forward Michael Osborne and his 2008 premiership teammate Rick Ladson were both awarded life membership.
