ZAK Jones has ended speculation he could be reunited with elder brother Nathan at Melbourne, re-committing with the Sydney Swans until the end of 2017.

Jones was due to come out of contract at the end of this season but AFL.com.au understands the 20-year-old has agreed to terms on a new two-year deal.

Nathan Jones is Melbourne’s captain and when he signed a lucrative four–year contract extension late last year, reports suggested the Demons would attempt to lure Zak back home.

But the Swans have convinced Jones, their first pick in the 2013 NAB AFL Draft at No.15 overall, that his future lies at the SCG.

Jones got a taste of AFL football in his debut season last year, breaking into the Swans' powerhouse team to play four games in the second half of 2014.

But a late-season Achilles tendon injury effectively thwarted Jones' bid to be part of the Swans' finals campaign.

The former Dandenong Stingray is yet to play a senior game this year but has been in good form in the NEAFL, having been named in the Swans reserve team's best players in four of the first six rounds.

At the 2013 NAB AFL Under-18 Championships, Jones was named Vic Country's most valuable player and made the All Australian team as a defender.
