HAWTHORN forward Luke Breust has continued his surge in the Official AFL Player Ratings, brought to you by Gatorade, after an outstanding performance against St Kilda on the weekend.

Breust's 29 disposals, six tackles and four goals equated to 29 player ratings points, which was the second-highest score of round seven.

Having started the season at No.59 on the ratings table, he now sits at No.34.

Breust has scored the third-most points of any player in the competition this season.

His 2014 tally of 134.9 points is only inferior to Gold Coast captain Gary Ablett (165.1) and Collingwood skipper Scott Pendlebury (142.9).

Cyril Rioli was another star performer on the weekend, jumping to No.6 on the player ratings table after also scoring 29 points.

The best score of round seven was recorded by Port Adelaide midfielder Jared Polec, who managed career-high tallies of disposals (30), inside-50s (nine), goals (three) and metres gained (711) in the win over Greater Western Sydney in Canberra.

Polec's effort equated to 29.8 player ratings points. He is now the highest-scoring Port player this season, narrowly ahead of Robbie Gray (106.1) and Travis Boak (105.6).

The Power have seven players in the top 40 for total points scored this season. That puts them equal with ladder-leader Hawthorn.

No other club has more than four players in the top-40.

Geelong star Steve Johnson is on the verge of cracking the top 10 after scoring 23.5 points in the Cats' win over Richmond at the MCG on Sunday.

Johnson's effort saw him climb from No.15 on the ratings table to No.12.

Ablett continues to occupy the No.1 position, with Pendlebury second, Adelaide's Patrick Dangerfield third and Geelong's Joel Selwood fourth.
