HAWTHORN'S Jordan Lewis has been quick to accept a two-game suspension for striking North ruckman Todd Goldstein during Saturday night's fiery game at Etihad Stadium.

The Hawks announced on Tuesday morning that Lewis would not contest his ban at the Tribunal.

In accepting his penalty, Lewis will miss games against Greater Western Sydney and Melbourne.

However, Gold Coast's Steven May will fight a two-match sanction for his bump on Brisbane Lions captain Tom Rockliff.

The contact between May and Rockliff in the first quarter of Saturday's QClash at Metricon Stadium resulted in the Brisbane Lions skipper being stretchered from the field.

The Lions later confirmed Rockliff had been cleared of a broken jaw after he was sent for scans.

Lewis was reported at the 24-minute mark of the first quarter for a late and crude round-arm spoil that collected Goldstein in the head.

Luke Hodge's striking charge on North Melbourne skipper Andrew Swallow was referred directly to the Tribunal, with no early plea available, after the AFL Match Review Panel handed down its findings on Monday.

Hodge hit North counterpart Swallow with a left forearm to the jaw that momentarily put the midfielder on the ground.

Swallow had to be substituted out of the game while he was checked for concussion and, although he returned briefly, was handed the red vest soon after.

Richmond defender Alex Rance has accepted a $1000 fine for throwing the ball into the face of Geelong skipper Joel Selwood.

Rance was charged with misconduct, and with an early plea for a first offence, his penalty was reduced from a $1500 sanction.

Young Lion Nick Robertson also accepted a $1000 sanction for striking Gold Coast ruckman Tom Nicholls.

In other incidents assessed, Sydney Swans midfielder Luke Parker was cleared of any wrongdoing for his role in a first-quarter incident involving Western Bulldogs youngster Clay Smith.

Parker made high contact with Smith, but the panel deemed the star Swan was also contesting the ball.

Hawthorn defender Taylor Duryea also had his charge thrown out by the MRP after it was determined the force of the contact made to Andrew Swallow's midriff was below that required to constitute a reportable offence.

Melbourne defenders Lynden Dunn and Colin Garland were also cleared for the roles they played in the head knocks sustained by Fremantle stars Michael Walters and Matthew Pavlich respectively.

The Freo pair sat out the second half with concussions.
