ELLEN DeGeneres' record-breaking selfie has been outdone by Hawks skipper Luke Hodge at Wednesday’s AFL season launch in Adelaide.
Organised by AFL Media, 19 club leaders huddled together to spoof the Oscars snap that sent Twitter into meltdown on Monday.
Degeneres' tweet became the most retweeted photo ever, clocking more than 3.2 million retweets and smashing the previous record held by US President Barack Obama.
While Hodgey's skipper selfie stands at a somewhat less impressive 1,698 retweets as at Wednesday afternoon, his effort managed to dwarf the mere 12 stars (13 including an unsighted 163cm Liza Minnelli) that American Hustle star and short-arm Bradley Cooper snapped during Hollywood’s night of nights.
