Adelaide may regain some key players for Friday’s clash with Carlton at Visy Park in week two of the NAB Challenge series.

Bernie Vince, Richard Douglas, Scott Thompson and Brad Moran are all available for selection, while Ben Rutten, who was rested against Fremantle, may also line-up against the Blues.

Vince has been on a modified training program since Christmas and coach Neil Craig said it was important the former best-and-fairest winner got some match practice before the season proper.

"Bernie could have played [against Fremantle], but I'm really keen to make sure he has the conditioning that is required for him to play good football," Craig said.

"He will be considered this week, but whether we play him against Carlton or in the local competition doesn't worry me too much. I just want him to start playing."

Nathan van Berlo (hamstring) is likely to miss one more week but is near full training, and Sam Jacobs (hamstring) will miss Friday’s game but should be available in two weeks.

Scott Stevens will be rested again this week as he recovers from a knock to the head, and Jared Petrenko will miss another two weeks due to an abdominal strain.

Adelaide has a closed training session at AAMI Stadium on Wednesday, from 10.30am, and a Captain’s Run on Max Basheer Reserve on Thursday from 9.45am.

Highlights of Adelaide’s big win over Fremantle on Saturday at Thebarton Oval will be up on afc.com.au soon.
