WITH St Kilda preparing to officially return to its spiritual home of Moorabbin next Monday, Saints skipper Jarryn Geary says the move will be a "carrot" to lure prospective recruits.

The Saints will hunt a big name to complement its developing list, with Gold Coast co-captain Tom Lynch and Adelaide star Rory Sloane headlining the list of prospective free agents at the end of 2018.

"We've had great facilities over the last couple of years, no doubt, and Seaford's been really good for the footy club," Geary told AFL.com.au.

"Having a new state-of-the-art facility, being able to have guys come 15 minutes' drive down the road from Prahran or Windsor or wherever it might be, is going to be a nice little carrot to dangle in front of their eyes.

"It looks really good, the centre. The location … the boys are pretty pumped. A lot of boys live around that area.

"Some of the guys that have actually grown up down in Seaford aren't too happy about it, but the majority of the group are really happy to be back."

The players were consulted about aspects of the design and set-up of Moorabbin's RSEA Park.

"They were really open with their discussions," Geary said.

"We had a couple of little sub-groups trying to put a few ideas together for the footy club. "They've changed a few things on the basis of what players have said, so it's going to be really exciting.

The Saints left Moorabbin in 2010 for Linen House Centre in Seaford, but that move ended up being short-lived.
