The AFL wishes to advise the following players were today named as the Trade Incentive Selections under the List Establishment Rules for the formation of the GWS Giants Football Club.
1 – Gold Coast Suns – Jack Martin (Claremont, WA).
2 – Melbourne - Jesse Hogan (Claremont, WA).
Under the List Establishment Rules for the GWS Giants that were approved by the AFL Commission, the Giants did not have the right to claim any of the 17-year-old players who nominated as a Trade Incentive Selection, but were able to trade with any of the other 17 AFL clubs for those teams to have selection rights from this pool of players.
Players Martin and Hogan are able to join their respective clubs for the 2013 year for training and preparation, but are not permitted to play AFL Football until the 2014 season.
