ESSENDON has been dealt yet another soft tissue injury blow, with Michael Hibberd subbed out of Saturday's match against Port Adelaide with a quad injury.

Hibberd pulled out of a lead early in the third term against the Power and ran straight to the bench before heading down into the rooms.

Despite briefly testing his leg on the sidelines, Hibberd was subbed out of the match for Nathan Lovett-Murray.

The injury follows a number of soft tissue issues for Essendon players this year, with Angus Monfries, David Zaharakis, Brent Prismall, Patrick Ryder and Michael Hurley all sidelined with leg muscle injuries.
