WEST Coast has suffered a significant double blow on the eve of its clash with North Melbourne, with star duo Josh Kennedy and Luke Shuey ruled out.

Kennedy didn't fly with the rest of the Eagles squad to Hobart on Friday, having battled with soreness during the week, but was named in the final 22 later in the afternoon.

West Coast coach Adam Simpson said the club would give him until the "last minute" to prove his fitness, with the club saying he was battling with "general soreness".

However, the Eagles announced he had withdrawn from the squad on Saturday, while Shuey will also miss the clash with the Kangaroos due to personal reasons.

Young forward Jake Waterman and promising speedster Jack Petruccelle have been named as their replacements ahead of the game at Blundstone Arena.

West Coast can move two games clear in second spot with victory on Sunday, while North Melbourne will be hoping to remain in the finals race with a win.
