AFL FANS are likely to enjoy a better match-day experience "very soon" after clubs, ticket agencies and stadium operators came together for a summit on Monday.

More than 100 people met at Etihad Stadium to kick-off the two-day conference with a view to making games more attractive for supporters to attend.

Already this off-season changes have been made to bring back some VFL curtain-raisers and allow kick-to-kick on the MCG after some games.

The League's general manager of clubs and AFL operations Travis Auld said there has been "a strong sense of collaboration" among key stakeholders at the summit.

"We haven't released anything new today, it was more about getting each of the industry stakeholders together. That was the first time we've had each of them in the room," Auld told AFL.com.au.

"It was largely about sharing our collective vision for the 2015 season, which is largely about delivering a fan-friendly fixture, a focus on affordability and a focus on fan experience.

"The two days is more about getting on the same page in terms of what we're hoping to achieve for the whole year.

"The initiatives will take some time. The majority of them will be rolled out between now and Christmas.

"If you're a fan, you should be quite comfortable there's the right people in the room who are focused on driving the experience for them."

Simplifying ticketing is a priority for the League and Auld said the AFL had already spoken to supporters about scrapping reserved seat games for 2015 – other than on Anzac Day.

Other issues on the agenda could include giving clubs access to scoreboards at grounds and the cost of food.

"There's a whole series of those sort of initiatives have now been finalised and we've talked about them, or are in play and we've got aspirations of finalising and releasing some more very soon," Auld said.

The summit at the MCG will continue on Tuesday.
