PORT Adelaide skipper Travis Boak has injured his right hand in a training drill.

Boak hurt his hand while fending off a teammate at training last Friday.

He had his hand strapped and has extra padding, allowing him to train without doing any ball drills on Monday.

Boak hasn't had scans and will be monitored during the week.

Boak played in the Virgin Australia International Rules Series and returned to Power training with the senior players on November 27.

New teammate Jack Watts said Boak wasn't concerned the injury was anything serious when he spoke to him.

"The mids were doing a bit of extra tackling," Watts said.

"He just said the worst thing is he can't play golf for a couple of weeks.

"He was out there today doing a bit and I'd imagine he'll be back in as soon as he possibly can."
