WITH three teams just a win behind top-placed Port Adelaide, victories against sides in the bottom half of the ladder are crucial if it is to hold onto its position at the head of the ladder. The Bulldogs pulled off a memorable upset last week over Collingwood and will need to find that same spirit and desire in order to pull off an even larger upset against a Power unit that remains undefeated at home this year. The Bulldogs' clearance game was brilliant against the Magpies - they'll require the same ferocity at the contest to stand a chance on Saturday.

THE SIX POINTS
1. The Western Bulldogs have dominated Port Adelaide recently, winning the past seven contests and eight of the last nine. One more win would equal their longest winning sequence against the Power of eight games set from 2000-05.

2. No team has had more centre clearances in 2014 than the Power, with a total of 170 at 14 a game, compared to the 10th-ranked Bulldogs with 152 at 13 a game.

3. The Bulldogs are the number one ranked handball side in 2014, averaging 176 a game. Port Adelaide is ranked fifth at 168 per match.

4. Port Adelaide has struggled to score against Western Bulldogs in recent seasons, kicking eight goals or fewer in four of the past five matches. The Power haven’t reached 100 points in a game against them since 2007.

5. The Western Bulldogs have struggled interstate under Brendan McCartney and have won just five of 16 games, with five defeats by more than 50 points.

6. Ryan Griffen was on fire against the Power in round 10 last year. He collected a game high 29.4 points towards his place in the Official AFL Player Ratings, in which he is sixth overall.

Prediction:
Port Adelaide by 26 points.
