About the Opportunity
AFL SportsReady currently has an exciting position available for someone wanting to pursue a career in the sport industry.
In this position, you will be employed by AFL SportsReady and undertake a full-time, 1 year Sport and Recreation traineeship. You will gain practical work experience, working for our Host Employer: AFL Victoria and receive formal education, resulting in a Certificate III qualification.
Reporting to the Regional Manager at AFL Victoria the primary purpose of this role will be to support the operation of sporting facilities and programs at AFL Victoria.
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Communicate with clients and colleagues
• Work as a skilled team member
• Identify and mitigate hazards and risks related to sport activities
• Collect, analyse and record information
• Adjust work procedures where necessary
• Increase your skills and knowledge of the sport industry
Skills & Experience
• Strong interest in Sport and/or teaching
• Basic computer skills
• Strong leadership skills
• Ability to prioritise workload
• Must be an Australian Citizen
• Must have working with children check

This position would be best suited to a young Indigenous person who has recently finished secondary studies.
