COLLINGWOOD has pulled the trigger and recalled athletic swingman Darcy Moore for a crucial job on one of West Coast's returning twin towers Josh Kennedy or Jack Darling in Sunday's MCG blockbuster.

Moore has been out of the Pies' line-up since round eight due to hamstring issues, but comes in as a timely replacement for Lynden Dunn (ACL), while Travis Varcoe has also earned a call-up from his own hamstring woes.

The Magpies, who have defied a lengthy injury list to sit second on the ladder, have also named crafty forward Will Hoskin-Elliott after he suffered bone bruising in his leg against Essendon.

Flynn Appleby (hamstring) and Ben Crocker (omitted) make way from a side searching for an eighth-straight triumph.

The third-placed Eagles steadied their shaky season with victory over the Giants last round and have restocked their decimated forward line for the MCG litmus test.

Star key forwards Kennedy and Darling have combined with Mark LeCras for 79 majors this season and all three are back from injury, alongside recalled youngster Jake Waterman.

The Eagles have left out Oscar Allen after an impressive debut, first-year midfielder Brayden Ainsworth, recruit Brendon Ah Chee and big man Nathan Vardy.

Onballer Dom Sheed has also missed selection for a fourth-straight match as West Coast seeks to end a 23-year hoodoo against the Pies at the MCG.

Ninth-placed North Melbourne has handed a long-awaited debut to former Bomber Alex Morgan for a crunch match against top-four hopeful Sydney at Etihad Stadium.

Morgan, taken with pick 29 in the 2015 NAB AFL Draft, rejected Essendon's one-year deal last season and joined the Kangaroos believing he could win more senior opportunities.

The 22-year-old replaces forward Cam Zurhaar, who broke his ankle against Gold Coast and could be out for the season.

The Swans welcome back Isaac Heeney (concussion) and goalsneak Tom Papley (hip flexor), with Irishman Colin O'Riordan named to debut after three years on the list and defender Nic Newman also coming in.

Kieren Jack (knee), Dan Hannebery (calf) and Jarrad McVeigh (collarbone) were injured in the loss to Geelong and go out of the side along with Dean Towers (omitted).

Fremantle has made four changes after a disappointing 54-point loss to Melbourne, with forward Cam McCarthy earning a recall to face Port Adelaide after a month at WAFL level.

Ruckman Scott Jones, Ryan Nyhuis and Cam Sutcliffe also come into the 22 for the Optus Stadium clash.

After signing a contract extension this week, Michael Apeness has been axed alongside reborn defender Shane Kersten, while Darcy Tucker has been managed and first-year onballer Andrew Brayshaw (groin) is injured.

The Power have replaced backman Tom Jonas (knee) with Jack Hombsch as they seek to consolidate their top-four berth with a sixth-consecutive win.

Karl Amon and Sam Gray are also into the side, with former Demon Jack Trengove and Aidyn Johnson dropped.
