AFTER a best-on-ground performance in the NAB AFL Women's Grand Final, Western Bulldog Monique Conti would be entitled to have well-earned break.

She reluctantly took a few weeks off to rest her body, before jumping straight back in to her basketball commitments last weekend. Playing for the Melbourne Tigers in the South East Australian Basketball League, Conti scored eight points and had six rebounds in a loss to the Nunawading Spectres.

Conti, who was last week named the Bulldogs' best young player and finished eighth in the best and fairest count, played basketball for the Melbourne Boomers in the 2016-17 WNBL season and VFLW football for Melbourne University last year.

The 18-year-old is again playing both sports this winter, although she's undecided about her footy commitments.

"I'm not sure where I'm going to play for VFL yet, but I'll be looking to play a few games and juggling both [sports]."
