PORT Adelaide's young brigade are unfazed heading into their first finals campaign, according to defender Riley Bonner.

The 20-year-old was one of five players with fewer than 20 games of experience who took to the field for the Power's 115-point round 23 thumping of Gold Coast at Adelaide Oval last Saturday night.

That victory secured the Power fifth spot on the table and set up a home elimination final with West Coast.

Bonner (three games), defenders Dougal Howard (21 years of age, nine games) and Dan Houston (20, 16 games), and forwards Todd Marshall (18, two games) and Aidyn Johnson (19, five games), along with first-year sensation Sam Powell-Pepper and Darcy Byrne-Jones are in line to make their finals debut.

"I see it as a pretty good opportunity," Bonner told AFL.com.au.

"We're in a pretty good spot at the moment, so hopefully I can hold my spot and see how far we can go.

"We're here to show we're a strong finals contender and hopefully when our time comes in the finals, we can show everyone else that we're good enough for it."

• Who plays who in week one of the finals?

The Power face some tough selection decisions.

Experienced defender Matthew Broadbent returned from an ankle injury in the SANFL last weekend and is likely to come back into the side.

Utility Jackson Trengove, key defender Jack Hombsch and small forward Jarman Impey will also be considered.

But it's going to be difficult for the Power to make too many changes to a side that has won three games in a row for the first time since round 20-23, 2015.

Bonner has played the past two games after returning for the Power's gritty round 22 win against the Western Bulldogs in Ballarat.

"I played one game last year and the JLT Series at the start of the year, so I sort of knew what to expect coming in," he said.

"I've just tried to focus on defence first, and my offence comes naturally after that.

"Hopefully I can hold a spot coming into the finals with a few older boys being injured and (Tom) Jonas suspended for a couple weeks."
