RICHMOND midfielder Anthony Miles has been withdrawn from the side to face Greater Western Sydney at the MCG on Sunday afternoon after suffering a minor medial ligament strain in his right knee.

Miles, 25, was replaced in the side by Corey Ellis.

Connor Menadue has been added to the emergencies.

The timing is unfortunate for Miles, who played just his third game of the season in the 31-point win against the Brisbane Lions last Sunday.

The club is unsure at this stage how long the former Giant will be out for, but his stint on the sidelines is expected to be relatively short.

Ellis, 20, will play his third game of the season.
