A HOST of Richmond-listed players will be trying to mount a case for senior selection when they take to the field in Saturday's VFL finals clash against Collingwood at Port Melbourne.

Important midfielder Josh Caddy has not been named as he races the clock to overcome a hamstring injury in time for next Friday's qualifying final blockbuster against Geelong.

However, Reece Conca, Shai Bolton, Corey Ellis, Ben Griffiths and Tyson Stengle will be among those trying to press their case for a call-up during the Tigers' upcoming AFL finals campaign.

Others in the mix to come into the side would be Sam Lloyd, Jake Batchelor, Conor Menadue and Jayden Short who have all been named to take on the Magpies' VFL team.

The Magpies will also field a strong side against the Tigers, with AFL-listed players Jarryd Blair, Chris Mayne, Callum Brown, Josh Daicos, James Aish and Kayle Kirby all set to play.

Melbourne may have inexplicably failed to make finals in 2017, but its VFL side, the Casey Demons, is right in the mix to go one better this year after losing in the Grand Final to the Western Bulldogs' VFL side.

After an injury-interrupted season, Angus Brayshaw has been named to play for Casey, while Sam Weideman, Jay Kennedy-Harris, Corey Maynard, Josh Wagner and Tom Bugg are also set to face Williamstown at Burbank Oval on Saturday.

Brayshaw made his way back into the AFL side in round 21 after repeat concussion injuries, with the 21-year-old managing to play the final three games of the season after suffering his fourth concussion in the space of 12 months in May.

Essendon will also have a strong contingent of senior-listed players for its duel with the Western Bulldogs at Port Melbourne on Sunday.

Aaron Francis, Heath Hocking, Shaun McKernan, Ben Howlett, Matthew Leuenberger and the retiring Brent Stanton will all be out to press their claims for a senior berth should the Bombers beat Sydney in their elimination finals match-up on Saturday week.

Bulldogs key forward Tom Boyd has been named, after taking time out of the game to deal with mental health issues in the back half of this year, while retiring champion Matthew Boyd will also take to the field.

As reported by AFL.com.au earlier this week, Matthew Boyd met with Collingwood coach Nathan Buckley about a position at the club next season.

The Box Hill Hawks will regain Conor Glass and Harry Morrison from AFL duties with Hawthorn, while Ty Vickery, Teia Miles and Kade Stewart have all been named to face Port Melbourne for their clash on Sunday.

AFL Victoria is urging fans to purchase pre-sale tickets to avoid possible queues on game day.

All lead-up finals will be at 2016 prices, with adults at $15, concession holders/pensioners at $10. Kids under 15 are free.
