THE SYDNEY Swans have withdrawn star midfielder Josh Kennedy from Saturday night's clash against Richmond, with replacement Jack Hiscox to make his debut.

The 27-year-old pulled out with a minor hamstring concern following the team's final training session on Thursday.

Kennedy's withdrawal has paved the way for academy graduate Hiscox to make his AFL debut.

The 21-year-old, who was recruited with pick No.38 in the 2014 NAB AFL Draft, is an elite runner and has consistently performed well in the club's time trials.

He has been developing his game in the NEAFL and last week booted four goals in a standout performance in the win over the Suns reserves.

Ted Richards returns from injury to take his place in the side, along with Dean Towers to replace injured duo Ben McGlynn (leg) and Dan Robinson (shoulder).

The Swans also shuffled their emergencies with James Rose and Xavier Richards replacing Brandon Jack and Tyrone Leonardis.
