FIVE player agents have been sanctioned by the Agents Accreditation Board for placing bets on matches in 2015.

There is nothing to indicate inside information was used when placing the bets.

Garry Winter, Luke Holland, Nick Gieschen, Olaf Borutz and Wayne Loxley each placed bets under $100.

One of the bets placed was on the International Rules series.

Winter was fined $1000 while the other four were penalised $500. Winter’s punishment was greater because he placed more than one bet.

"The AAB views any breach of the anti-gambling provisions of the Code of Conduct as a very serious matter," AAB boss Brett Murphy said.

"After a thorough investigation in collaboration with the AFL, we feel the sanctions imposed are proportionate to the level of breach in each circumstance."
