HAWTHORN and Adelaide both remain in the race to secure father/son prospect Ben Jarman at this year's NAB AFL Draft.

It was reported on Channel Nine on Thursday night that Jarman – the son of Hawks and Crows premiership player Darren Jarman – had nominated Hawthorn as his preferred club.

But Jarman's manager Dimitris Parhas told AFL.com.au on Friday morning that those reports were off the mark.

"No decision has been made as yet regarding Ben’s preferred club nomination," Parhas said.

"In conjunction with Ben and his parents, we will be assessing the merits of this decision over the next month."

Jarman qualifies for both Hawthorn and Adelaide under the father/son rule.

Darren Jarman played 109 games for the Hawks from 1991 to 1995 before 121 games for the Crows from 1996 to 2001.

Ben Jarman, 18, is likely to be a late selection in the draft.

The 175cm small forward turned plenty of heads with his performances for South Australia at this year's NAB AFL Under-18 Championships.

He will be in action for North Adelaide in either the reserves or in the under-18 side in the SANFL finals this weekend.

If Jarman does choose the Crows, he would be the club's first father-son selection since they entered the competition in 1991.
