NORTH Melbourne recruiting manager Bryce Lewis has departed the club after nine years leading the Roos' scouting team.

The club announced on Tuesday Lewis would be parting ways with the Roos after a recent restructure of the recruiting department, less than two weeks after the NAB AFL Draft was held in Sydney.

Lewis has been a constant in the club's recruiting department for close to two decades, having started there in a part-time capacity in 2000.

He had formerly worked in the club's media department before moving into the recruiting space.

Lewis has been credited for helping shape the Roos' list that made back-to-back preliminary finals in 2014-15, and has made the finals four out of the past five years.

His first selection in charge of the club's recruiting was Jack Ziebell in 2008, with fellow midfielder Ben Cunnington drafted the following season.

"As our head recruiter bringing in talent over the last nine national drafts, Bryce has been instrumental in assisting in our list build, which saw the club play finals in four of the past five years," North football manager Cameron Joyce said in a statement.

"Tellingly, of those players on our current list, 32 of our 44 players were drafted by Bryce.

"We thank him for his hard work and commitment to the club and we wish Bryce all the very best in the future."

The Roos selected speedy midfielder/forward Jy Simpkin at pick No.12 last month with their first choice at the draft.

Mark Finnigan will take on the role of the club's national recruiting manager, while former Geelong recruiter Michael McMahon was recently appointed North's list manager.
