PRIZED midfielders Dayne Beams and Allen Christensen will be cherry ripe for day one of Brisbane Lions pre-season training.

Beams played just seven quarters of football this season before requiring knee surgery for troublesome tendinitis, while Christensen was wiped out with a fractured collarbone in round 11 against Carlton.

Lions football manager Matt Francis says Beams is back running on the anti-gravity treadmill and has solved his knee issues.

"They took out another bursar and he feels like he's back to his normal, healthy status," Francis told AFL.com.au.

"He'll be fully fit and ready to go for pre-season.

"It's going to be exciting to see him come back and put this hard work … into playing footy again."

Beams has worked hard on his rehabilitation and will slowly build up to full weight-bearing running in the coming weeks.

Christensen is also doing well, but still has some upper body strengthening to do before he is considered 100 per cent.

"Because his upper body has been neglected, he's a bit behind the eight-ball, but with October off, he can build up and will right first up with pre-season."
