CHRIS Judd has joined Gary Ablett at the top of the leaderboard of the AFLCA Crown Champion Player of the Year award after again polling votes in Carlton's victory over Richmond at the MCG on Saturday.

Judd polled four votes to take him to 69, the same tally as Ablett who missed his third game of the year with injury on saturday night.

Brendan Fevola was voted best afield by Brett Ratten and Jade Rawlings and received the maximum 10 votes for his nine-goal performance. Ben Cousins got eight votes for a stunning display in a losing side for the Tigers.

Another big mover up the leaderboard is Dane Swan who got the maximum for another prolific game as the Magpies beat the Bulldogs by a point on Friday night at Docklands.

Swan just pipped Brian Lake who was impassable at full back and earned eight votes from Mick Malthouse and Rodney Eade for a superb game for the Bulldogs.

The coaches at the SCG also agreed on the best player with Jason Winderlich getting the maximum in the Bombers win over the Sydney Swans. In fact Essendon players took all the votes except for a single vote won by Sydney Swan Ryan O'Keefe.

The victorious Brisbane Lions shared the votes in their big win over Geelong at the Gabba with Jonathan Brown and Simon Black getting seven each and Ashley McGrath six for a fine rebounding game off half back. Paul Chapman was the only Cat to score votes, keeping intact their record of polling in every game this season.

Adelaide belted Fremantle by 117 points at AAMI Stadium on Saturday night and the Crows shared the votes as well with David Mackay and Kurt Tippett the best of them with six votes each.

Hawthorn's big guns Luke Hodge and Lance Franklin got the cream in the rain at Launceston with nine votes each in the Hawks narrow win over North Melbourne. The Roos best vote getters were Liam Anthony and Leigh Harding who each got three.

Cameron Bruce got the top votes in his 199th match which the Demons won against Port Adelaide at the MCG on Sunday. Newcomer Liam Jurrah got six votes for his four goals as did Power captain Dom Cassisi.

Over in Perth in the last match of the weekend, it was the Saints who again dominated. Nick Dal Santo and Leigh Montagna (43 disposals) shared the spoils with nine votes each.

That result dragged Dal Santo into fourth place overall on the leaderboard while Montagna jumped to seventh.

In the AFL Coaches Association Crown Champion Player of the Year, coaches vote each week on a 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 basis. Coaches vote only on their own matches, but may vote for players on the opposing team.

Past winners of the prestigious award include Ablett (2007-08), Simon Goodwin and Adam Goodes (joint winners in 2006), Barry Hall (2005) and Warren Tredrea (2004).
