PROMISING Collingwood defender Jack Frost could make his AFL debut in round one after being elevated to the Magpies' primary list.

Frost, a 21-year-old recruited from VFL club Williamstown, impressed during the NAB Cup series with his ability to play on key forwards and could be called upon for the Pies' season-opener against North Melbourne if Ben Reid doesn’t overcome a knee problem.

The other rookie upgrades confirmed on Wednesday were Frost's teammate Ben Hudson, Justin Clarke (Brisbane Lions), Ed Curnow (Carlton), Ricky Petterd and Orren Stephenson (Richmond), and Brett Goodes (Western Bulldogs).
