BRISBANE Lions co-captain Jonathan will have surgery on Tuesday to repair a tear in his plantar fascia and will miss the remainder of the season.

Brown met with the specialist on Monday, when the decision was made to undergo surgery.

Brown sustained the injury against St Kilda in round 19 and said surgery was in the interests of the best long-term outcome.

However, the out-of-contract star said he had still not made a decision on whether to play or next season.

"As I’ve said previously, the injury won’t influence any decision about my future," Brown said.

Young defender Justin Clarke will also undergo surgery on Tuesday to repair his right AC joint and will miss the remainder of the season.

The injury to his right shoulder was sustained in Saturday’s clash with Richmond.

Midfielder Brent Moloney also looks like missing the rest of the season with his hamstring injury sustained in the same match diagnosed as needing three to four weeks to recover.
