BRISBANE Lions Jed Adcock, Daniel Rich and Simon Black have all gone in for surgeries on Tuesday.

Co-captain Adcock and vice-captain Rich have both had minor ankle operations but are expected to return for pre-season training with the rest of the playing group on November 4.

Brownlow medalist Black is a little more serious though.

He has had surgery on both his left and right groins and knees, possibly pointing to an extension of his career.

Black missed the first six weeks of the season with a knee injury, then was hampered by groin and knee problems in the back half of the year as well.

He played just eight games, averaging just more than 22 disposals per match.

Black, 34, is out of contract and still weighing up his future.

For much of the season he hinted at giving it away at the end of 2013, but is yet to make a definitive call.

Fellow triple premiership player Jonathan Brown is in the same boat, having undergone surgeries on his knee and plantar fascia.
