GEELONG'S Paul Chapman is set to miss this week's preliminary final against Hawthorn after the Match Review Panel offered him a one-match suspension for his high bump on Port Adelaide's Robbie Gray during Friday night's game at the MCG.

Chapman was charged with a level two engaging in rough conduct offence for bumping Gray as he kicked the ball during the third quarter of the semi-final.

The incident was assessed as reckless, low impact and high contact and earned 225 points.

As a result Chapman was handed a two-match suspension, which he can have reduced to one game if he accepts an early plea.

If Chapman accepts, he will be able to return for the Grand Final should Geelong beat Hawthorn on Friday night.

If Chapman accepts the ban, his loss will be huge as he was close to best on ground last week against Port Adelaide. He is also a proven big game performer.

Sydney Swans defender Ted Richards has been offered a reprimand for his bump on Carlton's Levi Casboult in Saturday night's game at ANZ Stadium.

If he accepts he will be free to play in the preliminary final against Fremantle on Saturday night.

Richards was involved in a similar incident but the Match Review Panel assessed his action as negligent, low impact and high contact. It meant Richards earned 125 points, which can be reduced to a reprimand 93.75 points with an early plea.

No other incidents were assessed.
