FANTASY Footy continues this weekend, with AFL Fantasy Match Day running across both of the preliminary finals.

Hawthorn and Geelong do battle in a grudge match at the MCG on Friday night, with Fremantle in a do-or-die clash with the Sydney Swans at Patersons Stadium.

Dreamteam fans will have the chance to win $1000 for each game they play, with $3000 on offer in next week's Grand Final.

And players could do well to look to the veterans when selecting their side.

Hawthorn's Brent Guerra (118 points), Geelong's James Kelly (113) and Swan Jarrad McVeigh (168) all top-scored last time their team played.

Fremantle's Lee Spurr was the exception to the veteran rule, with a team-high 118 points against Geelong in the qualifying final a fortnight ago.

However, the in-form players vary when looking at the last time the teams met.

Freo, playing in its first home preliminary final, will hope Michael Barlow (123 points), Matt de Boer (111) and Paul Duffield (104) can replicate their form from round eight  against the Swans. Swan Kieren Jack (138) top-scored that night.

The Hawks last faced the Cats in round 15 where Cat Joel Selwood (128 points) and Hawk Sam Mitchell (127) led the way.

So, if your Dream Team or AFL Fantasy Elite squad failed to fire or fell just short when it really mattered, here is your shot at redemption.

AFL Fantasy Match Day is a quick and easy game played over a single match.

Coaches go head-to-head with their rival in a one-game contest, with each coach selecting eight players – two defenders, three midfielders, one ruckman and two forwards – from the two competing teams.

The coach whose eight players score the most combined points wins.
