LEIGH Montagna's consistently strong performances in NAB AFL Fantasy have him as the fifth-most expensive player in the competition in 2014.

Montagna showed no sign of slowing down last season, averaging a healthy 111.8 Fantasy points per game.

He finished his year with a monster 189-point performance in the round 23 win over Fremantle, off the back of 47 disposals.

The on-baller's 2014 price is $606,000, a $65,000 price-leap from the end of last season.

Captain Nick Riewoldt is the second highest-priced Saint at $559,000. A Fantasy staple of years past until injury cut his input, Riewoldt was reborn in 2013 and it was apparent in his 103.14 scoring average.

2014 AFL Fantasy price watch: Melbourne

Jack Steven [MID, $532,400], David Armitage [MID, $473,900] and Lenny Hayes [MID, $470,400] round out the top five Fantasy players at the Saints.

Steven's ascension to one of the top emerging midfielders in the competition was capped with a $40,800 jump in price from the end of last season.

The Saints' top draft pick (No. 3 overall), Jack Billings, has been given dual position status in his first season at AFL level.

Billings' price of $257,400 comes after a dominant carnival for Vic Metro in the 2013 NAB AFL Under-18 Championships.

Former Brisbane Lions ruckman Billy Longer is likely to have a more than useful role with the Saints, after being traded back home in the off-season.

With a starting price of just $194,400, Longer should be high on fantasy wish-lists in 2014.

Rookie pick-up Maverick Weller [MID, $306,700] may also receive some early opportunities.

Delisted after 32 games for the Suns, Weller will be keen to make his second-chance with the Saints count.

Weller averaged a respectable 69 Fantasy points throughout the 2013 season.

Forward Daniel Markworth, who missed all of this year with a knee injury, could also be a player worth targeting next season.

Markworth is listed at the bargain price of $115,200 and showed plenty of talent when playing in the Under-18 competition in 2011.
