SHANNON Hurn has signed a three-yearcontract extension with West Coast, tying him to the Eagles until the end ofthe 2017 season. 

The 26-year-old was on the AFLrestricted free agency list but just 16 games shy of life membership Hurn hasdecided to stay with the Eagles. 

"You always have to consider youroptions," Hurn told the club website. 

"But I have no intention of goinganywhere else, so thought we’d settle things early.

"I enjoy the football club, some ofmy best mates are here and I think it’s a pretty exciting time for the club. 

"Adam Simpson has also come in andthere is a good positive message and I want to play my role in the team to makesure we achieve the targets we set ourselves."

The South Australian has played 134 games with West Coastbut has not appeared since injuring his ankle against Hawthorn in round 13 lastseason. 

After a full pre-season Hurn has already shown hisimportance during the NAB Challenge, and his long pinpoint kicking from defencewill be a key component in Simpson's new game plan.
