COLLINGWOOD says Ben Reid and Jesse White are on course to be fit and available for the Magpies’ vital clash against the Sydney Swans on March 29.

The two big men trained well on Wednesday, with White engaging in match practice and Reid doing all training except match simulation.

Football manager Rodney Eade said the pair – who both missed the season opener against Fremantle through injury – were tracking as expected.

"Both did exactly what we set out for them to do," Eade told AFL.com.au.

"[They] trained for half or three quarters of a session and it's all part of their build up with the view they would be right for the Swans."

Collingwood missed the duo up forward in its 70-point loss to Fremantle. It had 21 scoring shots but kicked just five goals. Cloke was held goalless and struggled without support.

Cloke left the track early with a minor corkie on Wednesday while Heritier Lumumba and Jack Frost had a light session indoors as part of their conditioning process.

Several Magpies in line for selection may appear in a VFL practice match against Bendigo on Saturday.

Jarryd Blair and Sam Dwyer are likely to play their third game in succession as they build fitness after interrupted pre-seasons while Alex Fasolo and Josh Thomas will also line up for further match practice.

Collingwood will face a determined Swans' outfit who will be looking to rebound strongly from their surprise loss to the Giants.

The Swans have won just two of seven games since the Magpies defeated them in round 20, 2013.

Collingwood has only lost once in its past nine games at ANZ Stadium.
